How do I determine the proper width of crystal chandelier for my room?
We advise simply adding the length and the width of your room and using this sum, in inches, as your starting point. For example, if your room is 12' x 14', we would suggest approximately 26" ( 660 mm) wide chandelier. You may choose to go down in size if your room is close and full of furniture, or you may choose to go up a bit if it is a rather open room.

If you are hanging your fixture in a two story foyer, remember that the higher you hang a chandelier, the smaller it looks, so you might want to consider going a little larger than what the formula recommends. If you are hanging your chandelier in a room with a low ceiling where it is necessary to walk under the chandelier, you might need to go smaller than the formula suggests. Living rooms and Bedrooms
In most rooms the lowest point of the crystal chandelier (the pendant) should hang between 6 and half feet to 7 feet from the floor. How many lights should I have? As a guideline smaller rooms are fine with 6 to 8 lights, and we would recommend 40watt bulbs as they are more flattering to a crystal chandelier. For the larger crystal chandeliers over 12 bulbs you can consider 25 watts, however it is personal choice. A dimmer is a good idea if you like to vary the light to create a different ambiance.
